COVID-19 XBB vaccine is now widely available to everyone in our community at pharmacies and health care providers.

The WECHU is offering a limited number of appointments to get COVID-19 XBB vaccination for individuals in the following priority groups identified by the Ontario Ministry of Health:

  • Pregnant individuals
  • Individuals ≥ 65 years of age
  • All children 6 months to 4 years of age
  • Individuals who are from a First Nation, Inuit or Métis community, and/or who self-identify as First Nation, Inuit, or Métis, and their household members
  • Individuals 6 months of age and older with underlying health conditions per NACI recommendations
  • Members of racialized and other equity deserving communities
  • Health care workers and first responders

Eligibility to receive the COVID-19 vaccine is limited to those who have not had a dose of COVID-19 vaccine or a confirmed COVID-19 infection within the last 6 months. Individuals 6 months and older may receive a COVID-19 vaccine at the same time, or at any time before or after, other vaccines. Flu shots will be offered to eligible individuals during their COVID-19 vaccination appointment. Fluzone® Quadrivalent or FluLaval Tetra vaccine products are available at the WECHU clinics. Contact your health care provider for Fluzone® High Dose flu vaccine.

Stay up to date with your COVID-19 vaccinations by following the provincial recommended doses based on eligibility .
